Stay By My Side

"I'm busy." John said.

Torrie looked at John, before her fingers lightly touched her blonde hair.

"You're always busy," Torrie spoke.

John looked at her. "Well I'm sorry, what you rather I do huh!" John snapped, throwing his pen down staring at Torrie.

"Spend time with your wife! you know me! Torrie...or have you forgot that?" Torrie asked nearly in tears.

"Of course I haven't!" John yelled.

Torrie looked at John.

"Seems that way" She muttered.

"What would you rather me do! leave this job," John said, letting out a breath.

"I didn't say that,..I just want to spend some time with you" Torrie spoke.

"I want to spend time with you too but I'm busy." John said.

Torrie looked at John.

"Why are you doing everything you can, to stay away from me?" Torrie asked with her voice nearly cracking.

"I'm not." John said.

"Not much" Torrie scoffed.

"Torrie...please I don't need this right now," John spoke as he lowered his head down.

"Well tough you're gonna get it! you do everything to avoid me! at work paperwork is your excuse! at home! you do everything but spend time with me! and you missed one of the most important nights of my life! why!" Torrie shouted.

"Torrie leave me alone!" John yelled.

Torrie looked at John, before she shook her head showing in her eyes she's not giving up.

"No! John will you just tell me! what's wrong? what have I done! please" Torrie yelled back.

"Leave me alone!" John snapped.

"Not until you tell me what's wrong with you?!"

"Nothing!"

"We hardly spend anytime together, even when I was pregnant with Sarah we still...spend time together but you do everything you can, so you don't have to be near me...so please just tell me why?"

"Torrie just leave me alone! I can't do this alright! get on top of things...so just" John spoke.

"Will you just tell me the truth! for god sake! we're married so you owe it to me" Torrie spoke, nearly in tears.

"Okay I'll tell you what I'll just go and pack this job in so I can spend time with you! what that make you happy Tor? huh! would it!" John snapped in Torrie's face pushing the chair into his desk.

She stepped back from his tone.

"No of...course not...I just want to spend time with you..." Torrie muttered.

"Well you're going to have to wait!" John yelled.

Torrie's head lowered down.

"God what's a matter with you" Torrie muttered.

John didn't answer he just sat down then continued his paperwork.

Torrie looked at John, she grabbed his paperwork and looked at him in the eyes.

"John, will you just look at me!" Torrie pleaded.

"Go away." John said.

"John, please..." Torrie pleaded, with her voice so soft but close to breaking.

John looked up at Torrie.

"Will you just leave me alone?!" John snapped.

"Damn it! John will you just tell me what's going on?!"

"How the 100th time nothing! I'm just really up to eyes in it so please just go" He said, he tried to write something but Torrie grabbed his pen.

"Torrie!" John yelled.

"Oh that's a relief, you still know my name" Torrie spoke, with a slight glare at John from her green eyes.

"Torrie why can't you leave me alone?" John asked.

Torrie looked at John.

"Because I'm worried about you," Torrie spoke, with softness in her eyes.

"Why?" John asked.
