Sometimes You Have To Lose.

"What are you doing in here?" John asked softly.

Katie looked at the person.

"Actually you can, give me back my best friend's daughter." Katie said sternly.

Torrie just kept her gaze on the rain falling down on the window.

"I don't know...I wanted to be close to her" Torrie muttered as she blinked once.

"Excuse me," The woman asked not having any idea what Katie was on about

"God heaven sake,...give her back!" Katie shouted, Randy sighed and put his hand around her mouth and grinned at the woman.

"Sorry, ignore my fiancee...she's a little upset at the moment we were wondering if we could see a child that was brought in here last night Sarah Louise is her name"

"I'm sorry I don't deal with her case, but I can take you to Brenda" She offered.

"Me too." John said as he got down and put his arms around Torrie.

Katie licked Randy's hand and felt him remove his hand with disgust.

"That would be great thank you." Katie said as she got out of the car then slammed the door shut.

Torrie's eyelashes lowered down, before she felt a soft but two strong arms go around her chest. She turned from the window, and just leaned unto John's embrace. She closed her eyes for a moment, not saying a single word just staying silently in John's arms as they kneeled there together near the window.

"Do you enjoy your extra 2 hours sleep...since...she wakes you up at 6....normally" Torrie muttered, as she tried to smile but it cracked like a smashed mirror.

"Have you been here all night?" The woman asked getting her bag out of her car.

"No I'm fine with staying up." John said.

"Yes we have, now take me to Brenda so I can get Sarah back." Katie said.

Torrie nodded before she looked around, no sound at all only the sound of hers and John's voices, and heartbeats.

"It feels so empty without her here," Torrie uttered softly before her eyes turned back to the rain falling down the window.

"I must tell you, it's not going to be stairght forward I'm afraid" She said.

Katie stared at the woman with her hands on her hips.

"Oh I see, I'm going to have to get Sarah back the hard way." Katie said as she glared at her and grabbed a pole.

"We'll get her back don't worry." John muttered.

"Again with the pole!" Randy stressed taking it from her.

Velicity walked in, "Brenda isn't in until next Tuesday" She said to Katie and Randy.

Torrie rubbed the back of her neck, as she looked at the rain drops. "I hope so, because I don't think this family can survive without her" Torrie muttered.

"I don't think so either." John said softly.

"Okay I don't need her, I'll walk around this whole building find Sarah then take her home." Katie said.

"You don't understand if Sarah doesn't want to come home, then I'm afraid there's nothing we can do..." She said.

"But she can't stay in there, she doesn't belong there" Randy spoke.

"We have to put Sarah's needs and feelings first," She spoke, only doing her job.

Torrie just stared at John before she gently hugged him "But as long as we have each other, everything will be okay right?" Torrie asked softly.

"I'll find out what she wants then but I highly doubt she wants to stay here." Katie said before she started walking down a hallway.

John nodded with a small smile.

"Right." John said.

Torrie just smiled at John before she left the room with him.

"She will come home won't she?" Torrie asked softly as she walked beside him.

"Of course she will." John said.

Velicity opened the door, Katie walked in with Randy seeing tables, toys around then they saw a beautiful blonde young girl sitting there at the table colouring in.

Randy smiled a little seeing Sarah.

"I just hope you're right, it just hurts me to think she's away from us" Torrie muttered as she sat down on the sofa hugging a white fluffy cushion.

"Sarah." Katie said with a smile then went over to the little girl.

"I hope I'm right as well." John said.

Sarah continued to colour in ignoring Katie.

"I just can't my head around any of this John, I just wish it was just a dream..but it's not" Torrie muttered.

"I wish it was too, trust me I do." John said.

"Sarah? Wouldn't you rather go home and paint then color?" Katie asked.

Sarah just continued to colour in, acting like Katie wasn't kneeling down by the table.

"Katie, gentle..." Randy muttered back.

Torrie remained on the sofa, while John sat down next to her. "What are we going to do John?" Torrie asked, with tears in her eyes.

"Hope that Sarah realizes soon that we love her to death." John said.

Katie looked at Randy.

"I have to get her home Randy. This place isn't her home and this isn't where she belongs." Katie said sternly.

Sarah just ignored them as she continued to colour in.

"Katie, she's not listening...." Randy muttered putting his hand on her shoulder.

"I hope she knows it too, without her, we'll all just gonna fall apart" Torrie muttered before she started to cry sitting on the sofa.

Katie looked at Randy then at Sarah.

"Fine you want to ignore me? I have all day and I'll stay here and wait for when you're ready to talk." Katie said as she pulled out a small chair then sat on it.

Hours later, Sarah still didn't say anything.

Katie tapped her fingers on the table after she finished drawing at least ten hearts with Randy and Katie written in the hearts.

"Sarah please just talk." Katie said.

Sarah just continued to colour in, Randy was sitting on a bean chair as he read nearly all the books after Sarah refused to speak.

"What shall we do?" Torrie asked leaning on John's shoulder.

"Sarah please just talk." Katie said sternly.
