Lives At Stake

"I'm sorry but you have too." the nurse said as she tried to pull Torrie out the door.

Torrie let out a cry of fear while John just laid there on the bed. She felt the nurse pull her, she spotted Shawn outside "Sir!" The nurse yelled, while a frantic Torrie watched John lying there with a heartbeat monitoring beeping faster with his pressure dropping.

"Tor come on." Shawn said before he pulled Torrie out then hugged her tightly.

Torrie looked at Shawn, with tears in her eyes and falling down.

"John...no...Shawn what..." Torrie turned back, to see the doctor collapse the bed so John would be lying stairght on the bed.

"What are they doing? what's wrong with him?" Torrie muttered, feeling like she couldn't breathe.

"Trying to save him." Shawn muttered.

"Save him? He was..fine..he was breathing...moving around" Torrie spoke, as she had tears fall down while she waited outside watching the doctors and nurses surround John's motionless body.

"I don't know...I'm not a doctor." Shawn said with a sigh.

Torrie looked at John with tears in her eyes. She stepped closer to the clear window, as she watched him lie there motionless.

"He's going to be okay, right Shawn?" Torrie asked.

"Of course he is." Shawn said with confidence.

Torrie looked at John, before she turned into Shawn's arms.

"Thanks Shawn," Torrie muttered closing her eyes, with a singel tear falling down from her eyes.

"I'm always here to help." Shawn said.

"I can't....lose him Shawn, I just can't...he's everything the reason I live, breathe" Torrie muttered in tears in her eyes as she latched on Shawn for comfort.

"The will to carry on, John gives me the strength to face whatever is in my way" Torrie added, staying in Shawn's embrace.

"He won't die, I promise." Shawn said.

Torrie's head stayed on Shawn's chest, praying to god for John to be okay. Suddenly, she felt a chill she felt the rain pour on her emotionally when she heard a different noise. Torrie moved from Shawn's arms, and ran to the window.

Torrie's lips parted with a scream, when she saw a flat line on the monitor. A single line with a beep "John!" Torrie screamed as she felt her heart break in half in the uttermost fear of losing John. Her right hand went around her mouth, immediately breaking down within, with tears falling from her eyes seeing John's lifeless body on the bed and hearing that horrid sound that scared her to death.

(Don't worry he'll survive I have a plan for him to wake up when Kayla comes to see him )

Shawn hugged Torrie.

"See told you." Shawn said with a smile.

Torrie just continued to cry, standing by the window with a broken heart.

(oops I totally read that wrong, I'm distracted. lol Randy's the background and I'm listening to No Boundaries.)

Shawn hugged Torrie.

"I'm so sorry." Shawn muttered.

Torrie just lowered her head down, before she fell down to the floor in tears breaking down when the flat line on the monitor didn't change.

(It's okay I forgive you )

Shawn hugged Torrie tighter.

"I'm so sorry Torrie." Shawn said.

Torrie's eyelashes closed gently with tears falling down from her eyes.

"Has it changed?" Torrie asked Shawn softly.

Shawn looked and saw the monitor still a flat line, John's lifeless body not moving at all.

"No." Shawn muttered sadly.

Torrie just ran her fingertips through her blonde hair with tears streaming down from her eyes.

"No, he can't leave me..he just can't" Torrie muttered with sorrow, she got back up from the floor and touched the window seeing her husband lying there lifeless on the bed with a flat line on the monitor.

Shawn gulped then looked up.

"Big meanie." Shawn muttered.

Torrie looked at John for a moment, before she turned to Shawn.

"What?" Torrie asked while she wiped her eyes gently.

"I'm not talking to you." Shawn said then hugged Torrie.
