Elevator Malfunction

Candice Michelle Bautista emerged from her hotel room with a smile on her face. "I'll be back in two hours." She called over her shoulder to her husband. "I'm just going to get my hair done." She reminded him before closing the door behind her.

The Candy-coated Diva walked down the hall towards the elevator, dressed casually in dark skinny jeans, black flip flops, and a white razorback tank top, with her dark hair falling in waves to her shoulders.

She had just stepped into the elevator when she heard someone call for her to hold it for them.

"Wait!" Chris Jericho shouted, rushing to catch the elevator. In just a matter of seconds, the doors opened back again.

"Thank you so much," he said as he stepped in but had not looked at the person who waited for him. But at the moment, his eyes turned to the person, his smile faded instantly.

"Candice." That was the only thing that slipped out of his mouth.

"No problem..." Candice started to smile, then look into the familiar blue eyes of the only other man she'd ever loved. "Chris..." She breathed.

He stared into her brown eyes, at lost for a moment. At last, he shook away whatever spell was casted on him.

"So uh...how you've been?" Chris asked to break the awkward silence.

She tried to ignore the familiar pull she whenever near him and put on a polite smile. "Not too bad. How are things with you?"

"Things are going great," Chris smiled. "I have an autograph session to go in just a few hours."

"Ah, millions of screaming fan girls for the Sexy Beast." Her dark eyes lit with humor. "Some things never change."

"Well, what can I say? I'm so loved." Chris grinned. "So, you're going somewhere?"

Candice chuckled. "Yes, I'm getting my hair done. It's gotten longer than I'd like." She explained.

Suddenly, the elevator jerked unsteadily beneath their feet, grinding to an abrupt halt. The lights flickered and went out immediately afterward, only the dimly lit emergency lights stayed on.

Candice shrieked and fell forward as she lost her balance...right into Chris's arms.

Chris caught her in his arms right on time to break her fall.

"Are you alright?" He asked as he looked at her with concern.

"Yes." She steadied herself against him for a moment. "I'm fine, I think." She tried to ignore the fact that he still smelled the same. "Did the elevator just break down?"

"Unfortunately." Then he groaned. "I don't believe this." Not only was he worried about being trapped but also the fact that his ex girlfriend was stuck with him too, to make the situation even more complicated.

Candice took a step back and sighed, trying to regain her composure. "Well, I guess that means we're stuck with each other for awhile."

Well, isn't that just great he thought.

"I guess we'll just wait then," Chris said.

"You don't seem so happy about it." Candice said nervously, wondering if he still harbored resentments for the parts she'd played in the ending of their relationship. Granted, he wasn't blameless either, they'd both made their fair share of mistakes.

Chris sighed. "I just don't want to miss my autograph session," he said, though this was partly true in his case. "I mean it's only a few drive and I want to get there on time, you know?"

Candice nodded. "Right." She said, though not fully convinced.

"So...." He paused, trying to think of something to say to ease the tension. "It's a good thing you have flip flops on or your feet would sore with heels on with all this standing up." He chuckled lightly.

Candice giggled. "Heels limit my speed." She joked. "I can't be Super Candy in heels anymore."

"Hmm...unless you turn them into something like.....rocket boots? Now that I think about it, that would be super cool! And with that, you don't need a car to drive anywhere. You'll be going up, up...and away!" Then he laughed.

Candice laughed. "Rocket boots? I'm not sure if I could wrestle in them."

"Pssh, of course you can wrestle in them!" Chris said.

Candice giggled. "How so?"

"Well....ever watched Mortal Kombat? You could use them to do all sorts of flips....and uppercuts!" Chris said.

Candice giggled at the mental images. "I think I'll to my wrestling boots."
