A Secret That Kills The Heart

Carmin Rhodes sat down on the beach and brushed her hair out of her eyes, wiping a tear away from her eyes with her thumb. She had been keeping a secret for almost six months now and she couldn't keep it any more

She nearly jumped out of her skin when she heard someone say her name.

Anyone?

"Carmin" Cody told softly, seeing his sister setting alone.

"Hi Cody." Carmin said, trying to hide her tears.

"What wrong baby sis?" Cody asked, feeling the hurt coming from her.

"I made a mistake, a really big mistake." Carmin said.

"And what would that be? Are you in trouble? Who hurt you? NAME! I want the name, adress, number" Cody ranted.

"Cody, no one hurt me." CArmin said.

"Chelsea told me she wanted her mommy and daddy back together so I went to seee Zach so we could talk about how to make her happy and I...I slept with him and now I'm six months pregnant." Carmin said, crying.

Cody stared with a blank look at his sister, "What?!"

"I didn't mean for it to happen!"

"Right! Like you didn't think it could happen again? Since obvioulsy it worked the first time!" Cody shouted.

"I never meant to sleep with him."

"Yeah" Cody told, pissed.

"Cody, I didn't." Carmin said.

It was time for the truth.

"He forced me."

"What!"

"He...raped me." Carmin cried, falling into her brother's arms.

Cody felt sorry for his reaction now. If he could eat his words, he would.

"CAr... I... I'm sorry"

Carmin just clung to her brother, sobbing.

"I'm so sorry"

Carmin looked up at Cody through teary hazel eyes.

"What did I do to deserve this...twice?" Carmin asked.

"You did nothing" he said.

"And this time, I'm here"

Carmin said nothing as she continued to cry.

It had happened more than twice after she left, but she wasn't ready to tell Cody that.

"Anything else baby sis?"

Carmin shook her head, not ready to tell Cody everything.

"Sis, come on" he said.

"I have to know"

"I can't!"
