The Fears in Me

My teacher told me to write out how I was feelings about my mom and this is what came out.

I sit here alone
Saddened sound in the tone
Of my voice as I speak your name
My fears overtake me
The threat in this shakes me
Like a weak tree falling in the wind
I fear losing you
Don't know what I would do
If you were taken away right now
I try to smile
To make all of this worthwhile
But my fears make it hard to even breathe
So I hold on closely
To the memories you gave me
And I pray the good days will never end
For when they do
I can't hold on
And fight the way you want me to
So I'm facing it here
I stand before you in tears
As the end comes nearer everyday
As you fall to the ground
I can still here the sound
Of you telling me
It will be okay
Sometimes it's hard to believe
So I try to acheive
The happiness I know you want for me
So I take a deep breath
And hold on to what's left
Of the life that we had before the fall
In my dreams I still see
The old you and me
Smiling happy
Standing tall
Standing strong
Yet I know that one day
That will all go away
But until then
For you
I hold on.

And those words came from the heart I bet, the heart always knows what to say even when you are feeling really hurt.
