The Forgotten. (Kayla seeks John)

Kayla Marie Cena walked down the corridor on her own since her best friend Rachel was spending all her time with Tessa now. She knocked on John's door and waited trying to hide the tears in her eyes.

"Come in." John said as he did his paperwork.

Kayla gulped when she heard John's voice. She opened the door and waved at John trying to hide the tears in her eyes.

John looked up for a second then looked back down.

"Hey Kayla." John said.

Kayla just stood there in baby pink summer dress with black flip flops with a pink flower in her hair. Tears rose a little in her eyes as she saw John just sit there and work and not greet her.

"Hi, dad...how's everything?" Kayla asked.

"Okay but I have a whole stack of paperwork to do." John said.

Kayla looked at John. "Ohh, do you want me to go?" She asked nearly in tears.

"No, I'll take a break in a couple minutes." John said.

"Oh okay," Kayla spoke, she lowered her head down before perking it back up.

Kayla looked at John. "Ooh! you know that project I did, that you kept bugging me to do it I got an A!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Kayla smiled, but it faded when John didn't seem to impressed or anything he just continued to write.

"It...was...a really...hard project..I'm proud" Kayla muttered.

"Awesome job sweetie." John said.

"Thanks," Kayla spoke before she shifted in her footing. She waited for John to hug her, but it never happened.

"I did make you something," Kayla said managing a small smile.

John put his pen down then looked up.

"What did you make?" John asked.

Kayla held the glass bowl.

"Butterscotch pudding" She smiled, John looked at her then at it...it didn't look very nice at all.

"Oh...it looks great." John lied with a smile.

Kayla smiled at John.

"Wanna try some?" Kayla asked.

"Sure." John said with fake excitement.

Kayla smiled at John, and gave him a spoon.

"There you go," She said with a sweet smile.

John took the spoon then ate a scoop of pudding.

"Wow very good." John lied with a wide smile.

Kayla looked at John.

"Really?! I got low marks on that" Kayla spoke as she looked at her dad.

"It's fabulous, whoever gave you a low mark doesn't know good food at all." John lied.

"Aww thanks dad, it's all for you" Kayla smiled, while John felt his heart sink.

"Really? I think your mom might want some." John said.

Kayla's smile faded.

"Dad I made it especially for you," Kayla spoke as she looked at John with her puppy dog eyes.

"But I really think your mom would want some." John said with a smile.

"Mom don't like butterscotch pudding,"

"Neither...do I now.." John muttered under his breath.

"What?" Kayla asked not hearing him.
