Getting to Know People

Carmin walked up to John's office with her daughter Chelsea at her side. She wanted Chelsea to get to know people, so wanted to start with John.

She knocked on the door and waited.

John was going through paperwork when he heard a knock on the door.

"Come in." John said.

Carmin smiled as Chelsea hid behind her as they entered the office.

"Hey John." Carmin smiled.

John looked up and smiled.

"Hey." John said.

He watched as Shawn walked in soon after Carmin.

"What?" John asked annoyed.

"You promised me cookies, where are they?" Shawn asked as he started looking around the office.

"I never promised you anything." John said.

"Hi Shawn." Carmin said with a laugh.

"Having cookie withdrawl?" Carmin asked.

John watched as Shawn flipped the couch over, looking for cookies.

"Shawn!" John yelled.

"What?" Shawn asked, acting innocent.

Chelsea stepped out from behind Carmin.

"I know where there are cookies." Chelsea said.

Shawn smiled as he looked at Chelsea. He got down to her height.

"Where? If you tell me I'll be your best friend in the whole wide world." Shawn said.

"Uncle Cody has them." Chelsea said.

Shawn hugged Chelsea.

"Thank you best friend." Shawn said before running to Cody's locker room.

"Thank god he's gone." John said.

Chelsea smiled, hiding behind Carmin again.

John looked as Chelsea went back to hiding behind Carmin.

"Why are you hiding?" John asked.

"She's a little shy." Carmin said.

"Well if she comes out of hiding I can give her one of the brownies my wife made me." John said as he looked at the plate of brownies on his desk.

Chelsea moved a little.

"Come on sweetie, it's okay, he won't bite." Carmin said.

"You know most kids love me." John said.

"She's scared of everybody, even Cody." Carmin said.

"Why?" John asked.

"I don't know, she's the shyest little thing I've ever seen." Carmin said.

Chelsea slowly moved towards John's desk as the sun came off the nameplate on his desk.

"Shiny." Chelsea said.

"Yeah it is, do you know what it says?" John asked.

"No, but it's really shiny." Chelsea said.

"Why don't you try to sound out the words?" John asked.

Chelsea looked at the name plate for a moment.

"Jo-hn Ce-na." Chelsea said slowly.

"John Cena?" Chelsea said.

"Yep, that's my name. Good job." John said with a smile.

"Yay, I did it!" Chelsea said.
