"Paul dropped me off." Angel said.

"Okay, you can get into my car then." Katie said with a smile as she walked towards her car.

Katie unlocked her car then opened the passenger side door for Angel.

"You can get in and I'll put the wheelchair in the trunk." Katie said.

Angel nodded.

"I hate using that thing." Angel said, climbing in the car.

Katie got into the driver's seat after putting the wheelchair in the trunk of her car.

"I bet it's a pain in the ass." Katie said as she started driving to the mall.

"I feel so weak when I have to use it." Angel said.

"Can't you use crutches?" Katie asked.

"I do, but my chemo has me so weak I can't stand on my own two feet." Angel said.

"Don't be." Angel said.

Katie nodded then looked at Angel for a second before looking back at the road.

"What happened between you and...Randy?" Katie asked softly.

Katie nodded with silence as she continued driving. She didn't know why she asked in the first place. Katie dated a complete jerk before Randy and didn't want to go down that path again because she knew it just led to heartache.

'Just don't take it out on him." Angel said.

"What happened?" Katie asked.

"I was seventeen, we were dating, tihngs got a little sour then he...raped me, got me pregnant and paralyzed my child." Angel said.

Katie felt tears in her eyes then pulled the car over and stopped it. She let her head hang as she looked down at the steering wheel as tears started running down her cheeks.

"Katie, he's not that man anymore, I know that." Angel said. "He's one of my best friends now." Angel said.

"But...he did it. You don't just go from an abusive rapist to the greatest guy in the world just like that. Things like that don't just go away." Katie said as she kept crying.
