Torrie's eyes perked up to meet Lindsay's after Torrie had knocked off a vase from the shelve.

"Honey sorry just me being clumsy," Torrie spoke, she then saw Lindsay start to cry.

"You...scared me." Lindsay said, wiping her eyes.

Torrie kneeled there, before sympathany rose in her eyes.

"Aww honey I'm sorry, come here" Torrie spoke opening her arms to Lindsay.

Lindsay walked over to Torrie and let herselr rest in Torrie's arms.

"Loud noises remind me of the...gunshots." Lindsay said.

Torrie looked at Lindsay, before she wiped the little girl's tears away.

"Oh darling, I promise nothing will happen to you and you'll never be alone" Torrie muttered hugging Lindsay.

"Now go on, get ready" Torrie gently spoke before a smile went across her face.

Lindsay nodded before returning to her room.

She went to the closet and picked out a dark blues sweater, light blue jeans a white scarf with gloves and hat to match and white shoes.

She emerged a few moments later.

"Ready." Lindsay said.

Torrie looked at Lindsay.

"You look so cute," Torrie spoke smiling, she then brushed her blonde hair.

"Do you want me to do yours?" Torrie asked.

"Sure." Lindsay smiled.

Torrie looked at Lindsay, before she brushed her hair gently.

"Sweetie, tell me if I hurt you" Torrie spoke she ran her fingers through Lindsay's long blonde hair.

"There you go, pretty as a beautiful flower," Torrie spoke with a smile.

She walked down the stairs with Lindsay. "John," Torrie called.

"Oh, I almost forgot." Lindsay said as she rushed back to her room.

"What?" John asked.

Lindsay reemerged from her room again.

"I almost forgot mom's locket." Lindsay said.

She turned to John and smiled.

"Hey John." Lindsay said.

"Hey." John said with a smile.

"What, no hug?" Lindsay asked, her hands on her hips.

She had become a minurature Torrie.

Torrie looked at John, before a smile went across her face.

"We're going to the mall," Torrie spoke before she walked over to John's arms.

"It's gonna be loads of fun."

"Isn't it Torrie?" Lindsay asked.

"Okay." John said then turned into a daze when the game came back on.

"Yes it will," Torrie spoke with a smile.

She leaned her back into John's right arm.

Torrie looked at John, before she smiled.

"Sweetheart come out of your daze, and hug us" Torrie spoke with a giggle.

"Keep running." John muttered hoping for a touchdown.

"That's fine Torrie, I was gonna make brownies when we got home; no hug, no brownies." Lindsay said.

"Ooh! brownies! I'll help you sweetheart" Torrie spoke.

John got off the sofa, and looked at Lindsay and Torrie.

"Now do we get a goodbye?" Torrie asked, with a grin across her face. John chuckled before he nodded with a "Of course" look on his face.

Lindsay laughed.

"So it is true, the way to a man's heart really is through his stomach." Lindsay said.

"Sweetheart, if I gave John a homemade cake right now I could get him to do anything" Torrie spoke with a giggle.

"I'll have to remember that." Lindsay said.
